Autel EVO Max 4T XE: Quad-Sensor Tactical Drone with 720° All-Weather Obstacle Avoidance
The Autel EVO Max 4T XE is an enterprise tactical drone built for law enforcement, fire services, search and rescue, and industrial inspection teams that need multiple data sources in a single deployment.
Its Fusion 4T XE payload integrates four sensors, a 10x optical zoom camera, a wide-angle camera, a thermal imaging camera, and a laser rangefinder, delivering real-time situational awareness without swapping payloads between mission types.
Key Features and Benefits
Quad-sensor payload: zoom, wide-angle, thermal, and laser rangefinder in one gimbal.
10x optical zoom: identifies vehicles and details from extended standoff distances.
42-minute max flight time: hot-swappable batteries extend coverage without frequent downtime.
A-Mesh networking: connects multiple aircraft and ground terminals across long distances.
SLAM visual navigation: maintains high-precision indoor and outdoor flight in GPS-denied areas.
15 km transmission range: sustains command links across extended-distance field operations.
IP43-rated protection: supports reliable operation in dust and light rain conditions.
Foldable airframe: compact form factor enables rapid deployment in confined spaces.
Thermal imaging: 640x512 resolution detects heat signatures for inspection and SAR missions.
Built on Autel Autonomy's autonomous flight technology, the EVO Max 4T XE supports global path planning, 3D scene reconstruction, and reliable return-to-home in complex environments. A-Mesh networking enables drone-to-drone and drone-to-ground terminal connections without centralized infrastructure, while advanced flight control algorithms identify interference signals to maintain stable operation near power lines and critical structures.
Built So the Sensor Swap Never Has to Happen
Every minute spent changing payloads between a zoom shot, a thermal scan, and a distance measurement is a minute the mission loses. The EVO Max 4T XE removes that decision entirely by carrying a 10x optical zoom camera, a 48MP wide-angle camera, a radiometric thermal sensor, and a laser rangefinder on one gimbal, so an operator moves from identification to thermal assessment to precise measurement without landing the aircraft.
The thermal sensor alone spans a working range from -4°F to 1022°F, wide enough to cover everything from structural heat loss inspections to active fire conditions, while the laser rangefinder holds centimeter-level accuracy out to 1200 meters for teams that need hard numbers, not estimates, in their reporting.

Applications and Use Cases
Search and rescue teams: thermal and zoom overlays locate heat signatures across obstructed terrain.
Public safety and tactical units: overwatch and subject tracking from safe standoff distances.
Structural and utility inspectors: thermal imaging identifies heat loss and stress points remotely.
Fireground operations: thermal and wide-angle feeds track hotspots and roof integrity in real time.
Disaster response teams: rapid assessment of flooded areas and collapsed infrastructure from the air.
Urban tactical operations: A-Mesh networking maintains signal integrity in RF-challenged environments.
Geographical surveys: laser rangefinder and zoom camera capture precise distance and terrain data.
The EVO Max 4T XE exists for teams that need multiple sensor types working together in real time, not a single camera stretched across every mission type. With four integrated sensors, all-weather obstacle avoidance, and A-Mesh networking, this platform is built to deliver decision-grade data under field conditions.
At DSLRPros, every Autel unit is evaluated by real-world operators, not just bench-tested. We've worked with police, fire, and disaster response teams across the U.S. on bundle configuration, mission planning, and FAA Part 107 compliance support.
